Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Go2Work, part of Go2Group, collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit work.go2group.africa, apply for a job, register your CV, work for us through a placement, or ask us for staff. We follow the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
Who we are

Our Information Officer is, who you can reach at.
Information we collect
From job seekers: your name, contact details, CV, work history, qualifications, licences, languages, the kind of work you want, and anything else you choose to tell us. If you agree, we also collect references and the results of checks an employer needs for a role, such as a criminal record or qualification check.
From workers we employ and place: what we need to employ and pay you, including your ID or passport number, tax number, bank details, address, emergency contact, work permit where relevant, timesheets, leave and payroll records, and records of any injury on duty.
From clients: the names and work contact details of the people we deal with, and the details of the staff you ask us for.
From website visitors: this website uses no cookies, analytics or tracking. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes basic technical data such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site.
We only collect special personal information, such as health or criminal record information, where the law allows it and a specific role needs it, and then only with your explicit consent. Where an employment equity plan applies, race, gender and disability information is only collected with your consent and used for that purpose.
How we use it
- To match you to jobs and discuss them with you.
- To present you to an employer, only with your consent for that specific job. We never send your CV anywhere without asking first.
- To employ and pay you if you work for us through a placement: contracts, payroll, payslips, leave, and the tax, UIF and COIDA submissions the law requires.
- To give clients what a placement needs, such as your name, role, timesheets and safety records, and nothing more.
- To keep in touch about new jobs, if you have agreed to that. You can opt out at any time.
- To meet our legal obligations, including employment, tax, labour and record-keeping laws.
Who we share it with
- Employers and clients, only as described above.
- SARS, the Unemployment Insurance Fund, the Compensation Fund and other authorities, as the law requires.
- Zoho, which hosts our applicant tracking system (Zoho Recruit) and forms on our behalf under a written agreement, and **, which processes payroll for us. These providers may store information outside South Africa, in countries or under agreements that provide adequate protection as POPIA requires.
- Screening providers and referees, only if you agree.
- In-country partners, if you are employed through our employer of record service outside South Africa, so they can employ and pay you there.
- Other Go2Group businesses, only if you ask for a service from them.
We never sell personal information.
International job seekers and workers
If you live or work outside South Africa, local data protection law may also apply to how we handle your information, and you have the rights that law gives you. When information has to go to another country, for example to an employer or an in-country partner, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is protected as POPIA section 72 requires.
How long we keep it
We keep job seeker information for after our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete it sooner. Employment and payroll records are kept for as long as employment, tax and labour laws require, which is usually at least five years. Client information is kept for as long as we work together and as the law requires afterwards.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- confirm what information we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct or update it;
- delete it, or stop using it for a particular purpose, unless the law requires us to keep it;
- stop sending you information about new jobs.
Contact our Information Officer at. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Regulator: inforegulator.org.za.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including access controls, two-step verification on our accounts, and encrypted connections. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you and the Information Regulator as POPIA requires.
