Compliance you can check

Using a temporary employment service shouldn't put you at risk. Here's how we keep it right.

Workers have a contract and payslips from Go2Work, and we register them for UIF, COIDA and PAYE.

  • Equal treatment

We apply the Labour Relations Act's rules so placed workers aren't treated less favourably than your comparable staff.

  • Records ready for audits

  • Safety from day one

Site inductions and protective equipment agreed before anyone starts, in line with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Questions

What's the difference between temporary staff and employer of record?

With temporary employment services, we supply workers for a period and they work under your supervision at your site. With employer of record, you choose the person, often for a long-term or remote role, and we become their legal employer so you don't need a local company. In both cases we handle contracts, payroll and statutory deductions.

Who is responsible for the workers?

Go2Work is the legal employer. Under section 198 of the Labour Relations Act, you and we can be jointly responsible for some obligations, such as pay and conditions of employment, so we keep full records and share them with you.

What happens after three months?

For workers earning below the earnings threshold set under the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, a temporary placement is limited to three months unless an exception applies, such as covering for an absent employee. After that, the worker is treated as your employee for the purposes of the Labour Relations Act and must be treated no less favourably than your comparable staff. We plan each placement around this with you.

How do you price temporary staff?

A margin on top of each worker's total employment cost, quoted per role in writing before anyone starts.

Can you employ people outside South Africa?

Yes, through our employer of record service and in-country partners.

Do you screen workers?

Yes. We check ID and right to work, qualifications and references for every placement, and criminal records, credit or medicals where the role needs them and the worker consents.
